Gastroschisis: A Successful, Prospectively Evaluated Treatment Model in a Middle-Income Country

We are beyond excited to share a new original research publication by our colleagues in global paediatric surgery.

By adopting a multi-disciplinary protocol from high-income countries for the management of gastroschisis, a level II/III hospital in Mexico was able to decrease morbidity and mortality associated with the condition.

This protocol was prospectively evaluated from November 2012 to November 2018 and demonstrated a survival rate of over 90% at the centre.

Full paper published in the World Journal of Surgery.
